Stop This World

Gracefully going from victim to survivor to servant in the heartland

I am a hard-charging, career driven woman stopped dead in her tracks by being raped.  Since my rape I struggle with depression, anxiety & PTSD.  The rape has had a profound affect not only myself, but my family and friends.  Fortunately, I’m one of the ‘lucky’ ones and the perpetrator in the case was prosecuted.

I always knew there was light at the end of the tunnel and now I can finally see it.  My hope is that by sharing my story through this blog that I can help others to know that they are not alone, and that life is worth living.

Finding the light in the darkness is so important.  Below are a few things that make me smile & let me know I’m going to make it through:

-Family & Friends
-County & State Fairs
-College Hockey (Go Gophers!)
-Major League Baseball (go National’s & Twin’s!)
-Traveling to New Places
-Crisp, Fall Days
-Long Walks on a Country Road
-Pasta…heck, all carbs
-Live Music
-Reading a really good book

-Being a Child of God
